Yeah, it happened. Last month was the first time in forever that I wasn’t able to do “The Noise Of”. There are some excuses, but whatever. I simply couldn’t do it. Nevertheless, we are back with The Noise Of September, stronger than ever and… well… excessive as ever. Summer is over, fall on its way and that means: There is a lot of great music. A lot.
Let’s start the ride with a really nice little gem from French duo Rivage, full of catchy tunes and warm soundscapes.
There is this vein of prog in which old proggers that are famous for something which is 20-30 years in the past, try to use their name to sell something utterly uninspired. This is nothing like that. In fact, this is one of the prog highlights of the years.
Nagløed – Nowhere
September 8 // Unsigned
Mára – Here Behold Your Own
September 13 // SIGE Records
One thing that I love: Simple songs that just wanna be good songs, and nothing more. This EP delivers on that.
Brittany Howard proves that she can hold her own on her solo debut, balancing between pop appeal and raw soul.
Homer – We Are Going To Be Rich & Famous
September 27 // Unsigned
Cathari – Corporeality
September 27 // Seeing Red Records
