Hypophora, one of the most exciting new bands to come out of the U.K. music scene in recent years, have just dropped another fantastic video. Taken from their full-length album, Douse, “Sorcerers” showcases the funkier side of this post-rock hybrid quartet. Their ability to craft super-sweet hooks is also front and center, making it an easy and memorable access point for everyone.
Check out the video below to get a full dose of Hypophora at their best:
If you’ve already checked out our glowing review of Douse, you’ll know that “Sorcerers” contains some of the key elements that make Hypophora who they are. The distorted, funky bass, the post-rock wall-of-sound guitar and soaring vocals are all blended perfectly, creating an electric feeling. This excitement comes across in the video itself, which sees the band giving it some beans whilst a ballet dancer prances around them in a surreal fashion.
The video also gives a good insight on how energetic their live show must be, and guess what? You have a chance of experiencing it for yourself. Hypophora are currently on tour, supporting Toska across Europe this November and December. Given that we also highly rated Toska‘s latest release, these shows are going to be something special.
