Today is a good day for fans of great metal! Perennial heavy-hitters Fit For An Autopsy have officially announced their fifth studio album titled The Sea Of Tragic Beasts with a lead single and video. This album is to be released by Metal Blade Records with an international release of October 25. If you have been a fan of their repertoire to this point, you’ll be happy to hear that “Mirrors” offers much of the same that the band has built their success on.
“Mirrors” seems to lean strongly into the atmospheric elements that have been heavily prevalent in Fit For An Autopsy‘s more recent music. If it builds upon the crushing weight the riffs of The Great Collapse offered, I can already tell you I’m sold. They have become, in my opinion, one of the most consistent metal bands to always deliver in this last decade. Their catalog has yet to be marred by a bad release, and I have high hopes The Sea Of Tragic Beasts will continue their success.
The new track and video are absolutely haunting. Fit For An Autopsy doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to making statements, and “Mirrors” is a dismal look at addiction, which the video highlights. Directed by the ever-talented Karl Moore, it paints a bleak picture of the world of drugs and what it can do to people. Permeated with slow and dismal lead guitar riffs and driving drums, it is another cathartic release of anguish in the form of music. I am incredibly hyped for The Sea Of Tragic Beasts now!
The track list for the album has been provided already, along with the absolutely incredible artwork:
