Today math/prog rock darlings Covet announced a headlining tour through the US in July. It is a brief stint along the east coast that dips briefly into the midwest. Covet will be bringing along fellow instrumental greats Vasudeva and one of the very best new bands on the scene- Holy Fawn. All three of these groups have been killing it recently, and seeing them on the same bill is awesome.
Covet is coming off their support role on Dance Gavin Dance‘s extremely successful Artificial Selection tour. They’ve been quite the busy bodies as of late with extensive touring and the fact that they have new music brewing. A new song popped up in their most recent run, so I’m curious to see if there will be more this go around. Having seen them in the last month myself, I can promise you they deliver a fun show.
Vasudeva is still riding the high of the incredible No Clearance and is deep in the production of their anticipated follow-up. Having just completed a run of shows in Japan, they are returning home before this tour kicks off in their own backyard. Given that they have definitely been working on new music, I’m excited to see if we hear any new tunes from them as well!
What is there to even say about the addition of Holy Fawn on this tour? Death Spells absolutely blew us away and had a spot on almost every staff members album of the year list here. Any tour they are supporting is a tour I am supporting. They make for an interesting dichotomy beside the cheery and dancey music of their counterparts. This is definitely not a show to miss if you live on their path.
