Virginia Beach indie/alternative rock act Turnover have just announced a month-long North American tour running from November to December, having the art rock/dream pop solo artist Renata Zeiguer as a special guest throughout.
Turnover formed in ’09, and after a string of smaller releases, signed to Run for Cover Records in ’12. The band have released three studio albums since, the most recent being Good Nature from two years ago. Developing their own style from a wide range of influences, continuous touring, and artistic vision have solidified the band’s position as a prominent group to keep your eye out for. Turnover‘s main allure is in having chameleon characteristics, focusing on different approaches and varying songwriting on each of their releases, without compromising their most pivotal self or their own sound. The trio have been working on new material for a while, and promises to share new songs soon.
Renata Zeiquer is a hardly categorizable artist from Brooklyn whose latest effort, a four track EP called Faraway Business, was released this April. Her debut full-length “Old Ghost” saw the light of day early last year, and brought the artist to the public attention effectively and with an undeniable impact. Weaving invigorating and distinct soundscapes through complex songwriting, Zeiquer explores tangible and genuine lyrical themes, providing contrast to the otherwise airy and floaty atmosphere. She describes her own sounds as ‘tropical apocalypse’, and after having heard the music, it’s something that’s easy to get behind!
