I hope your computer or smartphone doesn’t have a weight limit. Monolord just dropped their new single “The Bastard Son” off of their forthcoming album No Comfort, and it’s heavy! Their fourth album overall will be their debut under Relapse Records, coming out September 20. The Swedish trio’s last release Rust was two years ago, and they are excited to put out new music. No Comfort will feature six songs, but you’ll get your money’s worth since Monolord are known for lengthy aural adventures.
For example, “The Bastard Son” clocks in at over nine minutes. I hear Crowbar influences in the guitar tone and the drumming. Vocally, I hear hints of Mastodon and Black Sabbath, all incredible bands.
