Hailing from Arizona, Gatecreeper slap together a groovy and crunchy blend of death metal with old school styled influences. The band returns now with their third album, which they titled Deserted. Accompanying the announcement, the band has released a single off the new record. “Boiled Over” is the new single and it sounds every bit as crushing as the title implies. Centered around beefy riffs and pounding grooves, the song keeps it simple and chunky, doing justice to the influences it spins around.

Deserted is packing ten tracks over its course and if “Boiled Over” is any indication, we’re in for some nice, heavy, and riffy treats. The album was recorded at Homewrecker Studios in Tucson, where Gatecreeper co-produced the album with engineer Ryan Bram. Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou handled the mix at Godcity in Salem, MA, and Brad Boatright mastered the album at Audiosiege in Portland, OR. Deserted’s hallucinatory cover art was created by Brad Moore (Tomb Mold, Morpheus Descends, and many others). Gatecreeper will also play some shows in support of the new record, so make sure you catch one of their shows!
Gatecreeper also had a little something to say about the album:
‘We are very proud to finally unleash our second full length album. There are plenty of new and exciting elements mixed into our songwriting formula, but the most apparent evolution is simply getting better at what we have been doing since the beginning. Our experiences over the 3 years have made us a stronger band all around. With Deserted we wanted to solidify and define the GATECREEPER sound of memorable songwriting with both infectious hooks and crushing riffs.’
