The French blackened post-hardcore outfit Celeste have just announced a Fall tour for this October/November, extending all the way from Europe to Asia and back. The tour is a continuation to the cycle that started after the release of their latest album Infidele(s) in 2017, with more dates to be added later on.

Celeste have been steadily making a name for themselves for almost fifteen years, having released an EP and five full-lengths during that time. Mixing together just the right amount of hardcore, black metal, and sludge, with the addition of doing everything in their native language, the band is an outré quirk to keep your eye out on. While the music is earthmoving and surge inflicting in all its heaviness, the lyrical themes refuse to pale in comparison. Addressing matters of domestic violence, nihilism and negativity, through a lens ridden with despair. The lyrics are very thought provoking and important to their expression and aesthetics. The sentimental photographic and susceptible cover artworks also underline the latter, strengthening Celeste‘s image even further. Signature sound and look are both rare things to achieve, and the act in question has managed to capture both since their very beginning.

Much as the video above, Celeste‘s live shows are minimal by lighting and overpowering by sound. The band exploits rapid strobe lights, as well as red LED light headbands, adding a new kind of eerie sensation to the atmosphere of their shows. Seeing the band live is surely a unique experience you most definitely shouldn’t miss, if the trek stops somewhere nearby.
