Just when you thought ArcTanGent 2019 edition couldn’t get any better, they’ve gone ahead and added another 29 incredible bands to their line-up. We were genuinely gobsmacked by the first major announcement last month, where they added bands like Battles, Cult Of Luna, Daughters, and Three Trapped Tigers to a roster which already included the likes of Meshuggah. Running from August 15th to 17th, the UK-based festival seems to go from strength to strength. Each year the line-up diversifies further, and the promoters scout out the hottest talent, both from the UK and globally. This year we’ll see the German titans of post-metal The Ocean grace the stages, playing songs from their latest album Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic; the festival will also welcome for the first time the progressive instrumentalists in Polyphia. Instrumental music always goes down a storm at the festival, so we expect the Texans to get on just fine.
Carpenter Brut joins Gost in delivering the festivals synth-laden experiences, whilst Nordic Giants offer up quite the cinematic experience. Last time they played ArcTanGent in 2017, they packed out the tent, so hopefully they’ll get a bigger stage with a bigger screen to play their insane videos on. Math-metal experts Toska return for the third year in a row, and now that the crowd knows Fire In The Silos, expect the pit to be grooving. Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs will be bringing their fuzzy Motörhead vibes with them to the festival, and there are still many more bands to check out on the roster.
