As I get older with each passing day, I find that I am starting to drift away from ‘traditional’ Western music that is mostly incredibly formulaic. I’ve been finding solace and peace in many different types of music that I never would’ve imagined I would begin to appreciate. Rather than just listening to the same predictable jams that beat the verse/chorus/verse/chorus structure into the ground, I just want something that takes me somewhere vivid and new. I’ve started to develop an appreciation for ambient music and the places that this particular style of music can take you if you are patient with it. One hidden gem that I discovered recently is the hauntingly beautiful ambient magic created by Enrico Degani & Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo.

Long before I even started to write for this site, Everything Is Noise has always exposed me to the widest variety of music, and that’s how I stumbled upon Enrico Degani & Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo. Now here I am, premiering their new single, “Violet”, from their upcoming album. Releasing via Auand Records, Time Lapses is due on December 11 and this is something you won’t want to miss, that I can guarantee you.

Time Lapses is the product of an improvisation session split up into several different pieces. By the sound of “Violet” alone, I can tell that Time Lapses is going to be as bleakly atmospheric as music can possibly be. As heard above, the music is incredibly luscious and blissful yet also equally haunting and disturbing with the accompanying video. Ultimately, it is up to you whether the music will instill a feeling of serenity or crippling fear; that’s the beauty of this music. I won’t go into any more detail, as this is something you need to experience for yourself.

Enrico Degani & Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo definitely deserve not to go under the radar so, until pre-orders for Time Lapses become available, check out Enrico‘s and Fabrizio‘s websites, and their label for more information regarding their upcoming album before it releases on December 11!
