Electronic mad scientist MASTER BOOT RECORD teased a new album today with a promotional video. The video description includes the name of the album, Virus.DOS, as well as a complete tracklist. If you’re unfamiliar with him, MASTER BOOT RECORD describes himself and his music as ‘100% Synthesized/100% Dehumanized‘. And that’s definitely how I would describe the sampler he’s presented us with. While these instrumentals are definitely lively, I’d hesitate to refer to these staccato bass hits and distorted drums as possessing any kind of organic life. Nevertheless, the pulsating tones are enough to get my blood pumping. Virus.DOS will be the follow-up to MASTER BOOT RECORD‘s 2018 LP Direct Memory Access.
