It seems universally accepted that I Let it in and it Took Everything is a stunner of an album, meaning any news of a Loathe tour would be greatly appreciated. Well, here it is: the UK purveyors of crushing riffs and gazey melodies are hitting the road with epic resolve, in June and July of this year.
The tour begins in the UK with an appearance at the iconic Download Festival in Donnington UK. It continues in Ireland, and then sets off to France, Italy, numerous locations in Germany, and several more countries. Selected dates will also include support from the likes of Silverstein, Of Mice & Men, and Bury Tomorrow, depending on where along the road you happen to catch these guys.
This tour gives Loathe an opportunity to flex their latest body of work. I Let it in and it Took Everything possesses as much brutality as any other Loathe release, but the heightened level of emotional intensity is what really sets this record apart. Those who never looked a great deal past the ‘hardcore’ description attached to their catalogue should find themselves extremely pleasantly surprised by what this band now offer up. It’s yet more proof that genre labels can often be the mother of all things misleading.
In any case, a live performance showcasing Loathe‘s latest material has the potential to be nothing less than astonishing. Prepare to be pummeled by the heaviness and mesmerized by all the rest. No doubt, they’ll bring out the old hits as well.
