Italian alternative metallers, Divergent return with a brand new video for their awesome recently released track, “Dysthymia”, and Everything Is Noise is lucky enough to have the exclusive premiere.

“Dysthymia” is possibly the heaviest song the band have ever made. It combines crushing and tightly delivered riffs with intense emotion, and also serves up a wonderfully meaty breakdown at the end. Divergent can be rest assured that they have done themselves proud with this one. The honest heaviness and progressive elements blend together on a near-molecular level. All in all, it’s an explosive tune, and the abstract imagery of the video adds a foreboding patience to the music.

The song also features guest vocals from Alessandro Ciccolella of post prog rockers, Ginkgo Dawn Shock, who provides an extra layer of emotive finesse to “Dysthymia”. Check it out!

Divergent released their debut full-length album The Great Solitude at the end of 2017, and “Dysthymia” hints at a fresh wave of music from this formidable force in prog/djent metal. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to hear more of it.

You can hear more from Divergent at their Spotify and Bandcamp pages. For all other news and info, visit their Facebook page.
