Hello there, beautiful people of the Everything Is Noise sphere, and welcome to this week’s episode of The Summer Jam 3: Electric Boogaloo! Today we are pleased to bring you the favorite summer records of two members of the fantastic Australian ‘flower-doom’ band Turtle Skull, namely guitarist/vocalist Dean McLeod and drummer/vocalist Charlie Gradon. It’s a wonderful time where we live (Sydney, by the beach) when everyone is on holiday and it’s a non stop good time of beach hangs, bushwalks, gigs, late arvo thunderstorms, dinners on friends balconies, east coast road trips, music festivals, mushroom picking…and as such we have our favourite summer albums to keep you company on those warm happy adventures.‘

Sleepy Sun – Fever
One of my all time favourite and most influential albums, and really epitomises that feeling of good times and warm summer days. It has it all. Incredible songs, beautiful harmonies, roaring fuzz, heavy psych breakdowns…
Charlie Gradon
Khruangbin – The universe smiles upon you
I don’t think there has been a day I didn’t put this album on at the café last summer. It just makes me feel better. You can concentrate on it, or you can have it on in the background. Also a dinner party favourite in our circle for sure.
Junip – Fields
Another one I smashed at the café. I use this as a play through on the kit a fair bit. I learned that I didnt want to be flashy, just steady and heavy.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra – II
A timeless lofi classic. One of my idols as a multi-instrumentalist.
