Genre tags are becoming less and less important, and Mireplaner are another in a long line of bands that prove just how useless these labels really are. “Morass”, taken from their upcoming LP A Mountain Of Saola Hooves, is an expansive, atmospheric, and crushing opus that will please any fan of heavy music. Throughout the song’s nearly ten minutes, Mireplaner create some of the most dynamic and interesting music in this space so far this year. Incorporating elements of post-metal, sludge, and hardcore, this is a massive track that I’m quite happy to premiere. Check out the song below!
Pretty great, eh? It can be difficult for some bands to keep my attention while allowing a song to ‘breathe’; however, not once does my attention waver throughout the full runtime of “Morass”. There’s a haunting beauty to the atmosphere, and when the massive riffs come crashing in like….well, a crash of rhinos stampeding right into your ear holes, it’s a thing of beauty.
A Mountain of Saola Hooves will be released on May 3, so be sure to head on over to Bandcamp and get those pre-orders in. You can also find Mireplaner on Facebook and Instagram – go hit the links and give them a follow to keep up with their latest news and more!
