October is upon us, friends! Time to break out all the movies spooky or gruesome, play an old favorite scary video game, or revisit some favored horror-themed music. This year, why not make time for something new? Maybe a fresh new band dealing in some nice, blood-soaked deathgrind? If that sounds like a great time, Ripping Remains has got your back with their debut EP Necrodestiny, which we’re proud to premiere today!

Hailing from Oregon, Ripping Remains rises from the ashes of the recently split Dripping Decay, sharing a name with their final EP. Featuring former Dripping Decay members Eric Stucke on guitar/vocals and Jason ‘The Machine’ Borton on drums, and rounded out by Michael ‘Frei’ Freiberger on bass, Ripping Remains is good old-fashioned deathgrind done right.

Beyond the spooky synth intro and news samples of “Carbonized Effluvium”, Necrodestiny kicks right into punchy grooves, chainsaw riffs, and a delightful dose of old school grind attitude on “Necrodestiny” proper. “The Horror Writes Itself” keeps the ball rolling with aplomb, while previously-released single “Rub My Infection On You” flirts with some more nimble technicality in its riffwork. Myself, I found closer “Maternal Rot” to be a personal favorite with its doomier intro and some positively eerie lead work, but there’s really not a dull moment across Necrodestiny. Just 17 minutes of brutal, old-school fun.

Sounds like a great time, right? Necrodestiny will be officially released this Friday, October 3rd via Satanik Royalty Records. It’ll be available for purchase through the label’s website, or at the band’s own Bandcamp page. And while you’re at it give Ripping RemainsInstagram a follow! So why wait? It’s the perfect time of year for gross horror metal!
