I’m lucky enough to live in an area with pronounced seasonal changes, and early March brings a blissful exhale in my neck of the woods. The sun hangs around a tad longer in the mornings and evenings; the colder weather is nearing its end and won’t be back for quite a while. There’s a collective optimism that this time of year can bring that I’ve come to appreciate the more the cycle spins back around. Nothing brings out the sweetness of spring like some good tunes to back the feeling, and the new album from Eggs on Mars is a warm invitation to better days ahead.
The psych-pop four-piece from Kansas City, Missouri are no strangers to the hopeful daydreams of the 1960s. With an added blend of their Midwestern hailings, they’ve brought out the softer side of psychedelia and a proven growth through retrospection. Their catalogue of easy-going tunes has showcased a knack for clever songwriting that never fails to cheer up a dull day, and their next release couldn’t have come at a better time. Everything Is Noise are delighted to premiere their next full-length album, Good Morning (I Love You), released through Enigmatic Brunch Records.
This small-batch label and band are a perfect pairing, plated hand-in-hand like eggs and toast. If those names alone don’t bring a smile to your face, I am certain the music will. The title track is a vibrant wake-up call that lets one ditch the caffeine and sip down the sincerity of a morning filled with affection. “And I Know” is another favorite, a math rock meets alt-country jam about the endurance of endearment through the peaks and valleys of life. Overall, the heartfelt collection of tracks offer a gentle reminder that life is enriched when shared with the ones we love.
Good Morning (I Love You) is the first album fully recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band which offers an added warmth to the good-natured vibe of the band’s work so far. Guitarist Joel Stratton and bassist Doug Bybee lent their hands through the production process, but every band member had agency over shaping the album through the comfort of their friendship and new musical journey. The album art is also a notable labor of love, a bouquet of flowers each distinct and curated by over twenty artists. Not only do they represent the bloom and flourishing of better weather, but a cherished gift often given to those in the best and worst of times.
If you’re in need of a good pick-me-up, look no more. Give this album a spin to complement a picturesque day, or to liven up the gloomy ones all the same. Good Morning (I Love You) releases on March 3, 2026 through Enigmatic Brunch Records, and be sure to check out Eggs on Mars’ Bandcamp for digital, CD, and cassette packages. You can also find them on Facebook and Instagram.
