Grammy-nominated progressive sludge metallers Baroness have unveiled “Borderlines”, the first single off their upcoming fifth full-length Gold & Grey. Continuing their well-known color-coded album series the band promise ‘increasingly superior, more honest and compelling songs‘, with vocalist/guitarist John Baizley adding that ‘I’m sure we have just finished our best, most adventurous album to date. We dug incredibly deep, challenged ourselves and recorded a record I’m positive we could never again replicate.‘ The band have also taken a different approach to recording this time around, opting for a looser, more improvisational method, as opposed to their erstwhile ethic of having everything completely nailed down during the recording process.
