After ArcTanGent‘s stellar 2017 and 2018 line-ups, there was a lot of work to be done to top them for the 2019 edition. Well, the hard work has paid off; the festival that has previously hosted bands like Converge, Explosions In The Sky, and The Dillinger Escape Plan has released the first wave of bands for this year’s festival, and boy has the team done well! Meshuggah were announced right after last year’s edition, setting a precedent for the organisers to follow, and they are very pleased to announce 37 (!!) new bands for punters to get excited for.

Leading the star-studded cast of this summer festival are the exceptional Battles, who will return to ArcTanGent as Friday night headliners. Joining them at the top of the bill are Cult Of LunaDaughtersZeal & Ardour, and 65daysofstatic, providing a smorgasbord of fantastic bands to see. Zeal & Ardour tore down the festival on its last outing, so their renewed inclusion is no surprise. Daughters‘ critically acclaimed fourth album gives them a deserved place on the line-up, their claustrophobic noise rock sure to bring in crowds.

The Bristol, UK-based festival will be rolling out its seventh edition this time around, and like its sister-festival – 2000 Trees – only seems to grow in size and quality. That much is clear as you begin to pick apart the rest of the announcement. A huge pull for Dillinger fans will be The Black Queen, and those same people should get excited for emerging acts like Azusa and LLNN, too.

Instrumental bands are also scattered throughout the ArcTanGent line-up, with acts like Three Trapped Tigers, The Physics House Band, and Sithu Aye gracing the stages of the festival this year. Holy Roar Records have sent another suitable contingent of bands from their roster, too. Not only are the incredible Møl performing, Conjurer and Pijn return as well, with the potential to repeat their joint venture Conjurer & Pijn / Curse These Metal Hands, which was a standout performance last year and is slated for a commercial release this year. Bringing the heavy are the titans of their sound, namely mathcore bands Frontierer and Car Bomb, who are perfect for any budding mosh pit lover to get involved in some action.

We’ll leave you to explore the rest of the line-up for yourselves below. Be sure to pick up tickets ASAP, as the show has consistently sold out of weekend tickets for the last two years – you can find them here.
